Tomorrow marks one year since the double murder of Paloma Gallardo and Josué Salvatierra, two teenagers aged 16 and 14 who were brutally murdered in the Buenos Aires district of Florencio Varela, and whose case remains unsolved with no arrests. On January 30, 2025, they allegedly went to a gym in the Bosques area, but their phones were turned off and stopped working, leading their families to report them missing. Their bodies were found two days later in an empty lot near the Roca train tracks, where the victims had no chance to defend themselves and were reportedly killed with a "blunt object". It was learned that the murders occurred on the same day as their disappearance. Autopsies revealed that Paloma died from a "brain injury" caused by a "skull fracture" and a "severe head trauma", while Josué died from a "brain hemorrhage", also with a "skull fracture" and "severe head trauma". The only person arrested was Gonzalo López, a young man from the city of General Roca, for possessing a cell phone similar to Josué's with the same IMEI number. Meanwhile, "Josué was using a cell phone that his father had lent him," the source added. The case is filed as "homicidis causa", a crime that consists of killing to hide another illicit act and which carries a life sentence. However, a year later, no one has been arrested for the murders, investigators do not know for sure what happened, and various hypotheses are being considered. According to a study, it was determined that they were two different phones, sources from the case told Noticias Argentinas, while both phones were activated at the same time in two different places. Josué's device was activated in February after his death, while López's phone did the same in the same month. They also pointed out that the young man who was released bought the phone over a year ago on Marketplace (Facebook), but it later broke and he took it to a technician to fix it, so he used the other phone. In addition, he was the line's subscriber.
